Funding open for Blackpool charities and not-for-profits

Up to £10,000 could be made available for local good causes from council.

Blackpool Council has launched a Community Cohesion Fund to support not-for-profit organisations based in or delivering work within Blackpool. This single round of grant funding is designed to promote projects that create a sense of togetherness, foster equality, and celebrate diversity within local communities.

Applications for the fund are now open and will close at midday on Monday, 17 February 2025. Organisations are encouraged to submit proposals that align with the council's goals of enhancing community cohesion. This includes promoting a common vision and sense of belonging, valuing the diversity of backgrounds, and developing positive relationships across different sectors of the community.

Key Details:

  • Eligibility: Applications are open to any not-for-profit organisation operating in or delivering work in Blackpool. Projects must focus on fostering harmony, equality, and inclusion within the community.
  • Funding Restrictions: The fund will not cover expenses such as uniforms, political activities, mobile phones or contracts, utility bills, planning applications, project planning fees, or activities already funded or delivered. Funding is also not available for individuals.
  • Expected Outcomes: Successful organisations will be required to submit an end-of-project summary outlining the activities delivered, participant feedback, and outcomes achieved. The report should not exceed one side of A4 (excluding photos), and any photographs included must have prior permission for use.

Community cohesion is central to Blackpool Council’s vision for the fund. A cohesive community is one where people from diverse backgrounds feel valued, have equal opportunities, and work together positively in neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces.

Organisations interested in applying can find full details, including guidance on submission requirements, on the council's official website: www.blackpool.gov.uk/cohesion.

This is a significant opportunity for local groups to secure financial support for projects that foster inclusivity and make a tangible difference in the lives of Blackpool residents. All applications must be submitted by the deadline to be considered for funding.
