Two full days of barbecue, drinks and fun for all the family – and it's back this May.
It’s the food festival that is the biggest of its kind in the north of England and will feature open fire cooking, demonstrations, a hot wing eating contest, axe throwing and promises lots of fun for all the family including inflatables for children and live music.
Organisers Nick Perry and Mike Powell tell us;
“It really is a spectacular couple of days, we cater for anyone with an interest in food and drink as well as ensuring the event is family and dog friendly.”
“Last year was a roaring success and we’re building on that by having more demonstrations, more exhibitors and a lot more food!”
“This year we welcome the legendary Stephen Bayliss who’s been entertaining the nation for over three decades and will be performing his unique blend of singing and entertainment on the Sunday.”
Visitors to the event can enjoy some of the best BBQ flavours as well as a superb array of artisan products and food related stalls with the Foodie Zone.
You can event try your hand at real live axe throwing with a prize for coming 1st.
Or, if you’re brave enough, take part in the Hot Wing Challenge with 6 rounds of hot wings with an increasing degree of spice!
The Flame and Food Festival will take place at Walmer Bridge Village Hall on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. Tickets start from £15, with children under 12 going for free.
Nick tells us: “It really is a spectacular couple of days and well worth visiting, we are attracting visitors from all over the country with people travelling from as far as Scotland for the weekend.”
“We look forward to the performance of Stephen Bayliss on the Sunday, but we’re also featuring some of the best products for your home and outdoor cooking along with live displays across the two days.”
Gates open from 11am and close at 11pm on both days, so guests really can enjoy a full day of fun, food, drink and entertainment.
