Lancaster on Ice is set to return to the picturesque Dalton Square, bringing festive cheer to the heart of Lancaster from 23rd November, until 5th January, 2025.
This year’s event promises to be even more spectacular than before, following the tremendous success of last year's festivities, which attracted thousands of visitors and received glowing reviews.
The outdoor ice rink, renowned for its stunning setting around the iconic Queen Victoria statue, offers a unique winter wonderland experience. Last year's event was particularly memorable, featuring an impressive 800m real ice rink that became a focal point for families and friends looking to embrace the holiday spirit.
Lancaster on Ice was first held in the city in 2018 and is organised by Hannah and Martin Horner, owners of The Borough in Dalton Square.
Since then it has grown bigger and better, over the years adding a big wheel and carousel to its list of attractions.
Visitors enjoyed not only skating but also a variety of food and drink stalls, alongside entertainment options that kept the festive atmosphere alive throughout the season.
Here is a taster of what you can expect:
Tickets for this year’s event start at just £9.95, making it an accessible outing for all. The organisers have worked diligently to enhance the experience, ensuring that both newcomers and returning skaters can enjoy a magical day out. With a giant Ferris wheel and various festive attractions planned, Lancaster on Ice aims to create unforgettable memories for everyone who attends.
New for 2024 visitors will have the chance to have breakfast with Santa, as it promises to be a fun, festive morning with a delicious breakfast bap & drink, festive crafts & a 1-to-1 meet and greet with Santa which is set to take place on the 14th December. Prices for this are expected to be £17.95 per child and £9.95 per accompanying adult.
Local businesses are also expected to benefit significantly from the influx of visitors during this period, as the event draws people from across the region. The combination of skating, shopping, and seasonal festivities makes Dalton Square a must-visit destination this winter. As excitement builds for the return of Lancaster on Ice, residents and visitors alike are eager to lace up their skates and join in the holiday fun once again.
