A Darwen councillor has appealed to residents of the town for help in catching the fly-tipper who has been systematically dumping rubbish in a back alley.
The debris has been left behind Everton Street several times this year.
But despite Blackburn with Darwen Council coming and clearing it up, it has soon reappeared.
Now Darwen West Labour councillor Dave Smith is seeking help from the people of the town to catch the perpetrator and end the fly-tipping.
He said: “This has happened seven or with times in the back alley behind Everton Street.
“The dumping includes things like of window panes, plastic window frames, and old doors.
“The glass gets broken and the shards are obviously dangerous.
“Everton Street leads on to Wood Street so a lot of people cut down it.
“I have reported it to the council who have come and cleared it up but then it comes back.
“This looks like systematic fly-tipping by one individual. Residents are very concerned about it.
“There was a receipt from a place in Bury whom the council have contacted.
“Officials have asked me to see if I can help identify the individual concerned.
“If anyone in Darwen has any information could they contact me privately and I will pass it on to the council confidentially.
“This fly-tipping is dangerous, unsightly and plan wrong.
“We need to catch the perpetrator so action can be taken and we can stop it.”
Tony Watson, Head of Environment at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council said: “We are indeed aware of the ongoing issues with the illegal deposit of waste at the rear of Everton Street, Darwen.
“Our environmental crime officers and street cleansing staff are working hard to try and identify the perpetrator.
“We would implore any local residents who may have any information pertinent to this issue to contact us in confidence at envirocrime@blackburn.gov.uk”
