Chorley Council has been working with Barclays, who previously operated from premises on Market Street, to ensure a presence and continuation of their face-to-face services remains in Chorley town centre.
Providing in-person banking support, Barclays Local is now based on the ground floor of the Union Street council offices and is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Leader of Chorley Council, Councillor Alistair Bradley said "We're pleased to be able to provide space in the town centre so that Barclays can continue to provide our residents with a service to help them manage their money and more without the need to go out of town.
"This is another example of a way in which we have supported local businesses to operate here in Chorley for the benefit of residents and also to keep footfall here in Chorley for the benefit of other businesses."
Although Barclays Local won't be dealing with cash transactions they will be offering services so that customers can talk to them about managing their money, borrowing options, using the Barclays app, learn about fraud and scams as well as making online transactions, registering power of attorney and other similar services.
