Have your say on proposed projects in Fleetwood

The Future Fleetwood Partnership Board would like to hear from the public on their proposed projects for the town.

The Regeneration Framework Report, which outlines all of the proposed projects and interventions which are being considered to improve the town over the next 20 years, has been published this week.

The Future Fleetwood Partnership Board, established to help facilitate a vibrant future for the town, includes representatives from the health care sector, further and higher education providers, Regenda, Affinity, Fleetwood Museum and Fleetwood Hospital Trust.

The board, supported by consultants from the renowned IBI Group, have worked closely with local organisations and stakeholders to identify projects, which will benefit local people, local businesses as well as visitors and tourists. These projects are outlined in the Future Fleetwood Regeneration Framework Report.

The public are invited to have their say on the projects until Sunday 1 January 2023 by emailing regeneration@wyre.gov.uk

Proposed projects in the framework include, transforming Fleetwood seafront, developing a new Visitor Centre as part of Fleetwood Museum, extending the town centre tram loop, improving the residential housing offer, town-wide green spaces, to name but a few.

David McPartlin, Head of Flakefleet Primary School and Chair of the Future Fleetwood Partnership Board commented: “We value our local residents’ feedback. It is really important to us on the Board to gain some insight from our local’s ensuring the projects we want to drive forward are aligned with our resident’s vision for the future.

 “There are some really exciting proposals in the framework which I am sure people will want to comment on. Ultimately, we are working on creating a brighter future for Fleetwood which will benefit everyone, so we want as many people to contribute their thoughts as possible!”

Garry Payne, Chief Executive of Wyre Council, commented: “The board have offered their experience and expertise and have worked incredibly hard to create a framework which will allow Fleetwood to prosper in the coming years.

“I would encourage residents, business owners and visitors to read the plan and submit their thoughts on the proposed projects.”
