This petrol station has been selling fuel cheaper than anyone else since it opened.
ESSAR Leagate Service Station on Blackpool Road, near Preston have been under cutting forecourt prices for fuel since it opened in early July.
The fuel station opened alongside the Morrisons Daily and neighbouring Costa Coffee outlet around the time of the new M55 link road which opened on the 2nd of July.

At the time of writing (02nd August 2023) ESSAR was charging 132.7p for unleaded and 136.7p for diesel, compared to the nearest cheapest petrol station, ASDA Marton which is charging 135.7p for unleaded and 141.7p for diesel. Some forecourt prices across blackpool were seen to be up to 10p per litre more expensive.
A spokesperson for the petrol station told us:
“ESSAR have their own refinery, so they can set their own prices. They usually supply to many other petrol stations.”
We asked if they intended to keep their prices so low, were we told “They will always make sure their fuel is price competitively.”
