A man arrested after a break-in at a house in Ansdell has been bailed.
Police were called at around 2am today (Sunday, December 11th) to an address on Kingsway, to reports three people – a couple aged in their 70s and another man aged in his 80s – had been woken by somebody breaking in.
The offender assaulted two of the occupants as they confronted him. One of the men, aged in his 80s, was taken to hospital as a precaution but his injuries are not thought to be as serious as first thought.
Officers attended and a short time later a man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has since been bailed.
