More M55 closures planned next week as bypass work nears completion

The M55 will have overnight closures next week as part of the works to complete the Preston Western Distributor Road.

The closures are from Monday 24th April to Friday 28th April are will be from 21:00 - 05:00hrs.

They are required to complete gantry works including final painting, installation of signage and installation of communication infrastructure, as well as completing some surfacing and lining works.

Drivers are advised to follow the diversion routes and plan your journey ahead.

Highways bosses said they apologised for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to thank motorists for their patience during the construction of the new road.
