Police appeal after Fleetwood attempted robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashboard mounted footage after an attempted robbery in Fleetwood.

It happened at the junction of Bold Street and the Promenade on Tuesday (December 13) between 8.45pm and 8.55pm.

The victim, an 18-year-old man, was waiting at the tram stop terminus when he was approached by a man who threatened him with a weapon and demanded his mobile phone.

After a brief scuffle the victim managed to get away without his phone being taken.

The suspect is described as a white male in dark coloured sportswear with a brown furry hood, aged early 20s, approximately 5ft 9 and of medium build.

The victim was wearing a yellow polo shirt, black jacket, santa hat and shorts.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area in that 10-minute time frame who might have witnessed the offence or the aftermath of it.

And, if anyone was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage, please get in contact.

Please call 101, quoting log 1271 of December 13, 2022.
