South Ribble Family Centre in Lostock Hall officially opens

The much-anticipated South Ribble Family Centre in the heart of Lostock Hall has opened its doors.

The centre is home to Finleys Families and the Tippytoes BabyBank supporting families, new parents, and children right across the borough.

South Ribble Borough Council as part of their investment into Lostock Hall and in support of the local organisation’s incredible work across the borough, provided a £300,000 upgrade to the facility, installing a new kitchen, changing spaces, and providing a modern and enjoyable place for families and others in the community to spend time and get the support they need.

Councillor Paul Foster, Leader of South Ribble Borough Council said, “I am so pleased that we were able to support this incredible facility. What the team at Finleys Families and the Tippytoes BabyBank do is truly inspiring and there are so many families and children across the borough who have already benefitted from their brilliant work.

“As a council we want to make sure that as many people as possible have access to the support they need, and I’m so glad we can provide investment into this facility in Lostock Hall where families, parents and children can spend time, have fun through play and get any support they need.

Finleys Families CIC began in 2022 when they identified a need in the community for a play space for families who may be vulnerable to isolation or need some support. They worked in Bamber Bridge ever since and have gone from strength to strength now extending their operation and calling Lostock Hall a second home!

The multi-use space will provide play sessions, support and signposting for families and will be home to the Tippytoes BabyBank where new parents and families can have access to vital baby supplies and products. The facility also has shower and laundry facilities, a kitchen, a one-to-one room, and a large play area.

While the official opening happened just this week, the team have been running sessions for a few weeks now and have had some really positive feedback.
