World Fireworks Championship Blackpool 2022

Back with a bang this October, the event will gather together the crème de la crème of the world’s firework elite.

The show promises a mouth-watering series of shows with jaw-dropping entertainment for all the family - a great opportunity for visitors to take an extended weekend break.

Starting on the 1st of October 2022, following a postponement due to the Queen's funeral in September, the stunning displays, which are set to music, will take place once again over the beach in front of The Blackpool Tower. All of them are free to access.

  • Saturday 1 October - Caribe Fire FX from Barbados.

  • Saturday 15 October  - Celtic Fireworks from Wales

  • Thursday 27 October -  Fireworks Factory from Finland

  • Friday 28 October - Celebratory display with Titanium Fireworks

All displays are subject to suitable weather conditions. The event will build-up from 7.30pm with an approximate firing time of 8.30pm for each display.

Due to the popularity of the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, there may be traffic delays arriving and leaving the event.  Take extra time to arrive and we would recommend if travelling by car to park in the southern car parks and use the tramway to travel to the event.

Train strike - 1 October

Please keep in mind that a national rail strike is scheduled to go ahead on Saturday 1 October. This means that there will be no trains arriving and departing Blackpool. Check for alternative travel options and, if arriving by car, leave plenty of time.

Parking

If travelling to the event by car, we strongly advise parking up early. Most central car parks are usually full a couple of hours before the event kicks off and roads become heavily congested. For a full list of Council-owned car parks, please click here.

We have managed to arranged access to North Car Park, Balmoral Road, FY4 1HR (Main Car Park) behind Blackpool Pleasure Beach. If the car park is not manned by an attendant at the entrance then guests should use the parking app to pay for  parking.  Details of this are clearly displayed on signs in the car park.

We look forward to seeing you at the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool 2022 for what promises to be a series of dazzling pyrotechnical displays.
