Registration is now open for the highly anticipated Chorley 10K and 2K Family Run, set to take place on Sunday, 4 May 2025.
This annual event invites runners of all abilities to experience the scenic routes through Chorley town centre and the historic Astley Park.
Chorley 10K Race
The 10K race commences at 10:30 am on Market Street in the heart of Chorley. Participants will navigate a two-lap course that winds through the town centre, along St Thomas's Road, and into the picturesque Astley Park. Runners will pass notable landmarks, including Astley Hall and its coach house, traverse the lake bridge, and continue past the park's playing fields and play areas. The route then returns to Market Street for the finish. The standard entry fee is £25.00, with a discounted rate of £23.00 for UKA running club members. Entrants must be at least 15 years old on race day. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal and a traditional Chorley cake. Additionally, the top three male and female finishers will earn free entry into the 2026 Chorley 10K, while age category winners will enjoy a 50% discount on next year's race fee.
Chorley 2K Family Run
For those seeking a shorter distance, the 2K Family Run begins at 9:30 am, also starting from Market Street. This route leads participants past Chorley Town Hall, into Astley Park, and towards the play areas before looping back to the town centre finish line. The course includes some inclines, particularly within Astley Park, making it an engaging challenge for families. The entry fee is £6.50 per person, and children aged 4 and above are welcome to participate. All registered finishers will receive a medal to commemorate their achievement.
Run Village and Festivities
Beyond the races, attendees can explore the vibrant Run Village located on Fazakerley Street. This hub will feature various organisations offering information, special offers, and activities related to running, fitness, and health. Whether you're participating in the run or cheering from the sidelines, the Run Village provides entertainment and engagement for all.
