Details of Preston City Games 2025 announced

Teams from local businesses and charities across Preston will come together at the University of Central Lancashire’s Sports Arena to compete in the third Preston City Games 2025.

The annual event on June 20 is organised and delivered by business support services provider Shout Connect, the University of Central Lancashire, and Preston City Council. It is designed to promote teamwork, wellbeing, and motivation, whilst also providing a fantastic networking opportunity for local businesses and organisations.

Preston City Games is a dynamic sporting festival that brings businesses and charities together to engage in friendly competition. In 2024, teams competed in football, netball, rounders, boccia, and golf tournaments.

Councillor Coupland, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing said: “This is the third year of the City Games and it is a brilliant initiative to promote and encourage health and wellbeing as well as a chance for different organisations across the City to get together and be active."

This year, the organisers are eager to build on the success of previous years and make the event even bigger and better. The more businesses that register early interest, the more the event can be expanded and tailored to suit the needs and preferences of the local business community. This year’s sports are yet to be confirmed and Teams are asked to register their interest and sport preference via the event website by Monday 31 March.

Dr Adrian Ibbetson, Director of Sport at the University of Central Lancashire said: “We are proud to be a partner in the Preston City Games. We are striving to be a healthy and active university and to look after our peoples’ wellbeing. We see the games as being an outlet for staff to enjoy being physically active, whilst also fostering a sense of pride and belonging by representing the university in this competition.”

Sharing his excitement Ian Coupe, Chief Executive of Shout Connect, said: “Preston City Games is always a highlight for the Shout Connect team! It’s fantastic to see businesses and charities engaging in sport, networking, and having fun. We’re looking forward to another brilliant event in 2025.”
