The horrible moment caught on a doorbell camera as a woman is told “I hope you get [cancer]”
The incident which happened in Leyland on Wednesday 6th November, when the homeowner opened the door to a young male who was reportedly acting on behalf of national charity Breast Cancer Now.
Speaking of the incident, the homeowner Vicky tells us;
“I opened the door in a hurry as I thought it was my son returning from school, when I realised it wasn’t I politely, as you can tell from the video, said 'I'm not interested, thanks' and shut the door.”
“I then thought I heard him say something as I shut the door and checked my doorbell camera to hear him say; “I hope you get it’ (referring to cancer.)”
“After I’d seen the footage, I later approached him in the street to be met with no remorse and lies from him saying he hadn’t said it.”
“When I told him I have it on video, he said I shouldn’t have slammed the door in his face.”
“I explaining that I had politely declined and closed the door quickly to attend to my oven which was beeping.”
“This incident is particularly distressing to me, as my nana died of breast cancer and there’s a change it is hereditary, I was so deeply upset by the whole incident – I shouldn’t have been subject to that on my own doorstep.”
The charity he was representing was 'Breast Cancer Now' who use a third party company for their fundraising canvassing.
