A number of local people have been awarded the MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list.
King Charles III's official birthday is today, Saturday, June 15, with a number of locals named as recipients of honours in celebration of their remarkable achievements.
Among the local recipients are the Executive Leader of Chorley Council, Alistair Bradley (pictured), who is recognised for political and public service.
Mr Bradley has been a Chorley councillor since 2008 and the Leader of Chorley Council since 2012.
As a qualified Quantity Surveyor working in the construction industry, Alistair has also enjoyed serving as the Council’s Executive member for Economic Development for a number of years. He also sits on the Hospital Trust Council of Governors and the Lancashire Police and Crime Panel to represent Chorley’s views.
There are also MBEs for Preston’s Bharati Dwarampudi, Advanced Customer Support Senior Leader, Department for Work and Pensions, or public service; and Eleanor Jane Watts from Leyland, Area Manager, The Riverside Group, for services to tackling homelessness.
Jean Bolton, a volunteer, for Chorley's Angels is awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM), for services to the community in Lancashire.
